Social Sciences

Westmount High’s Department of Social Sciences consists of a group of dynamic teachers who instruct and guide students in the study of human aspects of the world. Our goal is to provide students with a broad understanding and appreciation of the field. Social Sciences are taught at all levels of high school and subjects include: History & Citizenship (sec 1 & 2: world history), Geography (sec 1 & 2), History of Quebec and Canada (sec 3 & 4), Philosophy (sec 5 elective), The Contemporary World (sec 5), Advanced Placement Comparative Government & Politics (option within the Contemporary World course) and Advanced Placement Psychology (sec 5 elective).
