Physical Education and Health

At Westmount High School, we take pride in our athletics program by providing students with all day access to our facilities: the gymnasium and playing fields. (weather permitting.) Students can start the morning with a good workout in the gymnasium with our student supervisor and basketball coach Fitz Philips, play intramural activities and games during lunch and finish the day with after school team practice or sports. Spectators are welcome to join in the exciting competitions, cheer on fellow students, or watch the teachers defend their victory against students in floor hockey intramurals.

N. Epstein, J. Kosow, L. Hogan, and B. Heasman are four specialists in the Physical Education and Health program. They coach and motivate students in developing their physical fitness and healthy lifestyle.

Physical Education and Health is a compulsory course from Secondary 1-5. Students receive two classes in a nine day cycle. Sec. 5 students can opt for a popular elective course, Leadership Gym. Leadership Gym students organize and maintain athletics program while managing school teams.
