Athlete of the Month



James Langshaw is a grade 11 student who has represented WHS on the boy’s indoor and outdoor soccer team for the past five seasons. James is a talented, aggressive striker and was a key player scoring 17 goals in the indoor season. Much of the success of the team was in part to his dedication and hard work in wanting to better himself every game and every practice. Great work.

Ema Begum and Jordana Ashley are both grade 10 students and are undefeated in midget doubles badminton this year. They have shown great dedication to the sport and have improved as the season has gone on. Not only are they amazing players, but they are also great leaders. They help out fellow teammates and are always taking initiative. Way to go girls!

Congratulations to all three of you on being Westmount High School's April Athletes of the Month.



Alexandra Napoleon, a power forward on the bantam girls basketball team, leads by example and and helped propel her team to a successful season. Alexandra is a grade 7 student at WHS and is very excited to win student athlete honours for March 2014. Congratulations on your hard work, effort and performance this season. 

Amin Soltani helped lead the WHS swimming team to their first ever Juvenile Boys Championships. Amin anchored the IM relay to a team gold and was essential in the school team winning a combined 9 medals and the championships. Amin is in grade 11 and this was his 3rd year on the swim team. What a way to finish off a succesful swimming career at WHS. Amin hopes to compete in the olympics in 2016.
